Tasty Tuesday: Stewed Lima Beans

Stewed Lima Beans

Yield: 2 ½-cup servings


  • 1 cup frozen baby lima beans

  • ¾ cup water

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ⅓ cup onion, minced

  • 2 teaspoons nutritional yeast flakes


  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan.

  2. Cook over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until lima beans are tender. Sauce should be creamy.

  4. Enjoy and Bon Appétit!

Hints: Freezes well.

Variations: Holiday Stewed Lima Beans: Add 2 Tablespoons pimentos.
