Stewed Apples and Pears Yield: 5 ½-cup servings
Ingredients:
1 (15-oz) can pears in their own juice
2 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced thin
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1½ Tablespoons tapioca flour
Directions:
In a small mixing bowl drain juice off pears into a container to use later. Slice pears.
Prepare apples.
In a medium skillet combine prepared apples, pears, cinnamon, and 2 Tablespoons pear juice.
Cover and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Dissolve flour in remaining pear juice, stir with a whisk until all lumps are gone.
Pour over simmering fruit and stir until thickened and fruit is tender.
